Are you covered by my extended benefits insurance plan?

Regardless of your insurance provider, whether you have Registered Psychotherapists or Occupational Therapists listed as part of your benefits depends on your specific policy. Please check specifically whether your own policy covers Psychotherapy from a Registered Psychotherapist. Most policies in Ontario have upgraded their plans to include Registered Psychotherapists, but there may be some policies that only cover Social Workers or Psychologists, and you may need to request that your policy be updated to reflect the controlled act of psychotherapy in Ontario.

How many visits will it take -

Psychotherapy research suggests that typically, one goal can be addressed in 10-18 sessions, depending on the type and purpose of therapy. At our initial session, we will discuss how we will know when we’ve “arrived” at your goals and no longer need to meet.

You are free to end therapy at any time, however, if difficult feelings come up, it may be worth bringing them to your therapist's attention as ruptures in the therapeutic relationship are valuable aspects of therapeutic process.
